Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH), formerly known as Psuedotumor Cerebri is a rare condition where the pressure in the skull increases for no obvious reason. The symptoms mimic those of a brain tumor, but no tumor is present.
Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension is a rare neurological condition where the increased Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) increases for no obvious reason. IIH can lead to vision loss and blindness related to swelling of the optic nerve (papilledema).
The symptoms mimic those a brain tumor, but no tumor present: Symptoms may include headache behind the eyes, ringing in the ears in time with heartbeat, and brief episodes of
blindness (blackouts).
Our goal is to find out why IIH happens and discover medical research to find more treatments and hopefully a cure.
